Where oh where have the tag teams gone in WWE? It sure seems to have disappeared over the years and it all can be thanked by the creation called the brand extension. It has been pretty much the near death of tag team wrestling and very few tag teams even exist anymore. That seems to be the direction it's going and probably going to get rid of the tag team titles. Great teams are hard to come by anymore and it's time to really look at some of the greatest tag teams of all-time. Mainly, it will be guys who didn't really go far in singles competition but there are a few exceptions to that. Chances are, you may not agree with this list.

Road Warriors: Hawk and Animal are the only tag team in history to have been AWA, WWE, and NWA Tag Team Champions. It was like the two fit together like putting a glove on a hand. As singles competitors, it was never thought about and given an after thought. It would be perhaps a big move and it's surprising this team hasn't been inducted into the Hall of Fame as a team. This team needs to get in and it's ridiculous that it's like they are being ignored.

Steiner Bros.: Before Scott Steiner moved on to having success as a singles star, he was apart of a tag team with his brother Rick. When they were a team, it was unstoppable and had been the only tag team to win the WCW, WWF, and IWGP Tag Team Titles, something that will never be duplicated again. Scott and Rick

Hart Foundation: An early tag team that began around the 80s and into the early 90s, the Hart Foundation mainly consisted of Bret Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. They were two-time tag team champions and eventually broke away. Bret went on to become a major singles star going all the way to the top while Neidhart didn't at all. It was a brief reunion in 1997 as heels but as a group with Owen Hart, British Bulldog, and the late Brian Pillman.

Dudley Boyz/Team 3D: The only tag team to have won the ECW, WWE (Both Raw and Smackdown), WCW (WWE-owned), NWA, and TNA Tag Team Titles in history. This team would have to be considered one of the single greatest tag teams of this generation. Though initially separated most known in WWE, it showed that these two are better off as a team instead of just as singles stars. They are currently active in TNA at this time but there is no doubt they'll go down as one of the single greatest tag teams of the 90s and into the 2000s.

New Age Outlaws: Another case of two guys struggling as singles competitors that clicked as a tag team. The team clicked back in the Attitude Era being one of the front running teams and eventually joining DX. There really isn't much to say but they were pretty popular for the time.

Many other teams would follow suit and get that recognition. The Hardy Boyz or now just the Hardys are also an example of a tag team that went far in the tag team division. Also, there was Edge & Christian but all 4 men have pretty much moved on to singles competition. Now, I couldn't tell you anything about the tag team division. It seems to be a lost art but I think it's being worked on mostly in TNA but that's another story. I just wanted to mention some of the great tag teams in existence.
