I only have a quarter of a whole muffin so I can eat it almost everyday without adding too much calories in my diet. I also lessened my intake of rice during my other meals. We all have different rates of metabolism so knowing where we stand in calorie intake should guide us how much more exercise we need to burn off the extra calories and stay within the range of our healthy weight.
EXERCISE
No fitness plan is complete without exercise. Exercise means different things to different people. For some, a one hour walk is their form of exercise. For others, it is engaging in sports such as rollerblading, tennis, or running. Still for others, it is going to the gym at certain times in a day for several days of the week. Whatever it is, enjoying your routine and having fun is essential to keeping exercise a part of one's fitness plan.
Flexibility and variety in the time and regimen is also essential to keep us on track. For those who has fitness equipments or videos or DVD's, finding time to exercise is quite a challenge. Dividing the time for our personal exercise routine is helpful in being able to keep an exercise regimen. I do thirty minutes exercise with my bike after breakfast and thirty minutes an hour after dinner. That way, I won't feel burdened about having to do one hour of exercise all at once. When I get bored with the bike or if I feel some pressure on my knee, I switch to one hour of pilates for a few days.
During spring and summer, the outdoors are very irresistible. This time, I switch my exercise to running or rollerblading in the park. By winter time, I would be more excited to start with my indoor exercises again.
LEARN TO LOVE ACTIVITY
In this age of the television, it is very tempting to stay at home and just lie in bed or sofa and glue one's eyes on a soap opera or Sci Fi movie every single chance we have instead of engaging some outdoor activity.
We can't all be sports enthusiasts so the best alternative to burning calories is putting more activity around our daily tasks. Parking our car a little further than the entrance door at work makes us walk a longer distance. If we happen to go grocery shopping, parking further away allows us to work our muscles even more by virtue of the extra weight given by the grocery bags we have to carry.
During summer when the favorite past time is having barbecue at the park during the weekends, planning games to play would lessen our concentration on eating and more on participating and having fun in the games.
