Tell Me Again What You Can't See
Across this land, hearts are hurting
Tempers flair and fires burning
Down all that we hold dear
Our failures through the years.
Ringside seats at empty stages
A drifting culture turns the pages
On scripts without a cast
Mouthing words that will not last.
There are times when I seek brighter days
The joys of smiles and lighter ways
Tell me now if they are through
In this riddle of me and you.
Somewhere out along the border
Evil rides against law and order
Vile stench seeks you and me
Tell me again what you can't see.
A Marti Gras of hidden faces
Cockpit masks, working gages
Despite some who gave it all
Evil wins, towers fall.
Get out, get out, cry the masses
Open hell, I smell the gasses
Rains of people from the sky
Rains of people cannot fly.
I turn my eyes, I don't want to see
Horror that's in front of me
Screaming children in my ears
Nothing, nothing can replace my tears.
Across this land, hearts are hurting
Tempers flair and fires burning
Down all that we hold dear
Our failures through the years.
Ringside seats at empty stages
A drifting culture turns the pages
On scripts without a cast
Mouthing words that will not last.
There are times when I seek brighter days
The joys of smiles and lighter ways
Tell me now if they are through
In this riddle of me and you.
Somewhere out along the border
Evil rides against law and order
Vile stench seeks you and me
Tell me again what you can't see
Tell me again what you can't see.

Lost
Lost in a sea of faces.
All alone in the crowd.
No one turns an ear,
Though I scream out loud.
Lost alone in the darkness,
