when the average height was barely six feet so he purely dominated with his seven foot frame. He was dominant on both sides of the court and will be a legend and probably become a myth of the NBA because the league was not as popular back then what it is now.
(Tim Duncan) The best pure shooting power forward, center of all-time could be Tim Duncan. He and the San Antonio Spurs have won 5 championships while being a Spur. His scoring ability around the hoop will be legendary when he retires. He has reinvented the patented Tim Duncan backboard shot and really uses his shooting ability to his advantage. He hardly dunks the ball because he has the touch to just lay the ball in the net. What makes Duncan even a greater scorer is his ability to stretch the defense and take outside shots. It is hard for bigger defenders to guard him because of his range as a shooter. Not since Karim Abdul Jabbar have we seen such touch around the basket. Duncan can throw the baby hook from time to time and proves that he can get it done as an all-time scorer.
(Allen Iverson) AI will go down as the one of the smallest guards but biggest hearts ever in the NBA. Yes, he lacks a title and maybe another super star that may not get another shot at a title, but he can shoot the ball extremely well. Whether attacking the basket with his fearlessness around the net or bombing threes on you he is all about offense. Iverson is shadowed more now that he is paired up with Carmello Anthony but Iverson can still play at a high level. While in Philadelphia he did win an MVP award and had his only final appearance end in defeat against the Lakers but he did carry that team almost the whole way that year with relentless shooting. He might not have that all important image that legends usually carry but that is also what makes Allen Iverson unique in his own way. You might not like the tattoos and bling he often carries off the court but you still have to respect the fact he is smaller than the average player in the NBA and still scores at will.
(Larry Bird) If Woody Harrelson would have backed out of the blockbuster Spike Lee hit "White Men Can't Jump" then they could have hired Larry Bird. Bird was a shooting specialist and maybe the best offensive player ever to play basketball. He won titles, three point contests, MVP awards and perhaps was a hero for white America in a mostly dominantly black starred league. His image appeared rough and appeared more like "Shaggy" from "Scooby Doo" but was extremely tough and gritty as player. Moreover he will be tagged as Magic Johnson's biggest rival but in fact at that time the NBA was on a low and Larry Bird and Magic Johnson rejuvenated the league in the 80's and perhaps saved the league at that time. Bird made things happen on offense and was not afraid to be a scorer and will be an all-time great forever.
(Julius Erving (DR J) Although I never got to see this monster of a NBA icon just watching his highlights he definitely was an all-time scorer. His glamor and fame was ignited in the ABA with the New York Nets and then got jump started in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ixers. He has scored over 30,000 points in his career and still holds the record in the NBA with the highhest point average in a career. Dr. J all-time fan favorite dunk is now a Converse commercial which makes it safe to say that this legend is still well known today. Whether it was the large fro or the large leaps he made over defenders into baskets he was a pure scorer that should not be forgotten as an all-time scorer.
