If it were necessary to develop the petroleum resources of Peru's Amazon and the US were part of the multinational companies, the US should not be able to ignore its own environmental standards. There is a solution without endangering the fragile ecosystems of the Amazon or any other area.
Petroleum resources are only developed when a future need in expected. Industrialized nations, with their manufacturing, preparing processes, transporting, and stores for selling those products, create a need for tremendous amounts of petroleum. The increasing number of people in small businesses has caused nations to be vulnerable to economic problems that could impact people in a variety of ways, creating many problems.
This way of life has become one of great bondage and insecurity for the government and the people in general as well as the people in business. Nations have made alliances for the resources they need in the future and have put themselves under the control of other nations who at any time can go against them. The small business owners live in a fear of losing their livelihood. The American dream is looking more like a nightmare.
The industrialized nations have not acknowledged that their way of life is full of problems and uncertainties. They promote the same lifestyle to the people of India, China, Africa, South America, and more, as though it were the modern utopia. They are required to find markets for all the businesses that people started. Their eyes are blinded to the fact that so many people starting small and large businesses create severe competition for the needed resources and outlets for commerce.
The need for energy resources is just one part of the problems. Using the energy is causing pollution; the very air we breathe has already become dangerous to breathe in many countries. The vehicles emitting exhaust and gas and oil residue pollute our air and our water and now safe drinking water must be bought. Concentrated extreme heat released from many businesses cannot be cooled before it damages our atmosphere. It can be called global warming or pollution, either way, we are destroying ourselves.
The quickest solutions involve awareness that the industrialized way of life will not create fewer problems in the future. We are going in the wrong direction. Employment is not the goal of life; retirement in a garden paradise is the goal. Turning back to the land to create a retirement lifestyle of edible gardens and useful animals for healthy foods will quickly solve many world problems. Money is not the solution; concern for money is the obstacle we need to remove to solve these present and future problems. God has prepared the way before us to solve money concerns.
Another quick solution to our present need for energy is to accept God's command for one day of no work for anybody as recorded in Exodus 20. A one-seventh reduction in energy use will be seen immediately. The outgrowth of families coming together for the day of rest will be a reduction in stress which decreases sickness and disease, and an increase in better family relations, creating a greater social security.
Multinational companies do not need to develop the petroleum resources of fragile ecosystems such as Peru's Amazon with or without US environmental standards, if we are willing to turn from a destructive life of bondage to true freedom in a garden paradise. God has solutions to world problems we created by ignoring His wisdom.
