One of the biggest obstacles online business owners face is the lack of traffic. If you want instant traffic you can go the paid route and invest in a marketing campaign with sites such as google and yahoo. If, however, your like the majority of us then you have a very limited budget and cannot afford to go the paid route just yet. With the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you can find that will help you start driving traffic to your site.

Before I tell you the free methods you can use to generate traffic let me say this. Being that these methods are free it is going to take some effort on your part to put them into action. Time management is a very critical part when it comes to the success of your business. Write out a schedule and stick to it. Write down what your going to do and how long your going to do it. Don't spend to much time on one task. If your having a hard time with something then move on to the next thing and come back to it later. Utilize your time wisely so you will be able to incorporate several methods to increase traffic to your website.

Method #1 - Online Forums/Communities

Forums and online communities are a great method you should take advantage of. They allow you to target a certain group that fits the audience you are looking for. With online communities and forums you can build trust and a good reputation by showing your range of expertise in a specific subject. The more valuable your posts are the more likely you are to get potential customers visiting your site.

Method #2 - Newsletters

You can use a newsletter to provide people with a catalog of your products and you can also entertain them with articles and other information pertaining to your specific audience. Make sure your newsletter is interesting and entertaining that way more people will sign up and you will have more people to market your product or service to.

Method #3 - Exchange Links

Exchanging links is a great way to increase your link popularity and drive traffic to your site. Make sure the site you exchange links with is relevant to your site otherwise its useless. When you exchange links you benefit from the marketing efforts of the other site owner as well.Every visitor that goes to their site could potentially click on your link and visit your site as well.

Method #4 - Write Articles

Write articles that will grab your readers attention. People tend to have a short attention span so you have to capture their interest within the first sentence or two
