Coach Bags are second-rate and not worth my money. I am not here to argue why you should not spend money that you don't have on a nice handbag, but I am here to argue why you should not spend half of your rent money on a Coach Bag.
Coach bags are everywhere! Every other girl or woman is carrying one, which makes Coach very unoriginal! The price on the tag is not completely unaffordable, so long as you're willing to give up a few necessities, like...FOOD. Okay, I'm exaggerating. You're, more or less, giving up on your daily dose of Starbucks - if you're into Starbucks.
The thing is, I'm completely unopposed to spending half of the cost of my rent on a fabulous ORIGINAL piece of artwork that I know that can be resold for about the same cost (or more!) that I've spent; and most importantly, there are not 10 million of these bags floating around on Ebay. I'm completely opposed to spending money towards Coach bags, because they are a dime a dozen. That goes the same for Dooney & Burkes bags. They are a dime a dozen, are in the same targeted niche as Coach, and very unoriginal and they purposely copy the likes of Louis Vuitton.
See, Fashion is about being an individual, not flaunting off a brand name; especially when the person in question is flaunting off an ugly $300 Coach bag that looks like something your grandma would tote around. All because of the leather label: COACH is recognizable.
However, I am guilty of owning two Coach bags. One, no one has, actually, which is good news for me and was only $86. The second one I don't even use, because I saw some teeny bopper sporting it one day in Niketown, so I drop kicked it into the back of my closet. Never to be found again. I do, on the other hand, like their little accessories, such as the scarves. The scarves are okay in my book, just not the bags!
Okay, so you want a bag that is original in design and it needs to meet your price range? Try any up-and coming-designers who are entering into the Fashion Industry. These designers have a fresh and new outlook on designs and they are definitely exciting refreshment from the likes of such hacks, like Coach and Dooney & Burkes.
You want originality and can afford an expensive bag? Try the contemporary styles of Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, and Chole bags. These designers have some pretty sweet contemporary bags out there that are not mass produced and very original, but just don't get their signature bags. Signature bags tend to scream poser and makes another person wonder if it's a fake.
