In today's society, labels are everything. We eat by labels, buy clothes with only name brand labels, take our medicine via labels, we even define groups of people with labels. Because we have labels, we no longer judge person for person. We define the whole group as unworthy. Now, we want sew labels on the different types of relationships we Americans share. Why?

I believe a sacred marriage should be sacred to only those holding it sacred. Any two people loving each other enough to call their relationship a sacred institution should be allowed to do so.

In the eyes of certain religious sects and some States, it is only sacred if between a man and woman. Common Law couples are labeled common law because their togetherness is time orientated and not blessed or legally stamped by justice. Civil Union is the tag for gay couples. OK. Does labeling work? Perhaps it is organizational. But is it fair or discriminative?

In a country founded on freedom, why do we keep coming up with reasons to remove freedom and rights? If we are all created equal, then why can't we ALL have equal rights? Imagine if Rights were the same for all. And people were judged for their personal integrity not their way of life. Probably save a lot of argument and heartache. America has had over 232 years as a Nation to get freedom right. Talk about a slow process. What is slower than receiving freedom?

I wonder why there are still people in this country who believe only men should have a sacred marriage with women? I also wonder why men do not shave their armpits, because that personally bothers me more that the who's who of marriage and seems as ridiculous.

If there is separation of state and church, why can't we keep them separate? If religion dictates negative thoughts toward some people, then you need a new religion. One that promotes love thy neighbor. Not disrespect of a neighbor because they do not live as you choose to live. That thought pattern is rather ignorant and selfish. I learned in Kindergarten, The world would be a better place if we all minded our own business.

If my neighbor, who is a religious man, is also a wife beating alcoholic, excuse me if I choose not to be like him. But I do appreciate those Americans who make sure he has more rights than the two lesbians across the street who love and adore each other as well as their four children. Give me a break. Better yet, give them a tax break, and the right to a sacred marriage in all states!

There is good and bad in all nationalities,
