Exploring the possibility of life after death

To live is to die, everyday we are a little bit closer to death. If this is true then it must also be true that to die is to live.

I cannot imagine that when we close our eyes to eternal sleep that there is only darkness and nothingness waiting for us on the other side.

I believe in life after death, not physical life but a spiritual existence. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell in the traditional sense but I do think that life and death is what we make it.

I believe in Karma and that you reap what you sow, if in life you are cruel and unkind then in death your afterlife will be tortured and you will pay a price for your earthly deeds.

Do unto others as you would have done onto you. This is my mantra, and I believe that by living my life with decency and kindness to others that my soul will be at peace and when I die I will have no past ill wills or evil acts to taint my soul and haunt me in the afterlife.

Heed my warning and make sure you can live with yourself and your actions because everything we do is imprinted on our souls and the choices we make while we are alive will affect us in the afterlife.

We are more then mere flesh and bone, we have a spark that ignites us, and it is that spark that leaves our bodies when we die. That spark is our soul and it carries on after we are gone.

It is said that when we die our lives flash before our eyes, I want to be proud of who I was and what I accomplished on this planet, when judgment comes I want to be able to say I lived my life with grace and dignity, because we are our own worst critics and I believe we must judge ourselves. How can you expect to be at peace if all you have flashing before your eyes is a life full of mistakes and regret?

There are infinite possibilities to what happens on the other side. Do you really think that we are not held accountable for our sins in this world? Do you think that when we die we are gone forever? Do you believe that you will see a white light and be reunited with lost loved ones in paradise?

The truth is what happens after we die is one of life's biggest mysteries. There is no right or wrong opinion on this subject and I guess in the end we will all find out someday, as death escapes no one.
