Hacking. What does it really mean for you? Well lets look at it this way, supposing you had a house and a burglar broke in and stole all your money and your LCD TV, your CDs, your DVDs and a lot more. You would want to take action against the burglar, wouldn't you?
Well hacking is exactly the same. If someone hacks your computer they are essentially breaking into your life, just like a burglar. A hacker can steal your money and your have access to your photos. A hacker can also turn your computer into part of a network for sending out thousands of spam e-mails every day.

Do you want this to happen? Well you don't. Just as what you have in your house is yours what you store on your computer is also legally yours. Your computer files should have the same legal rights as your household possessions.

Hacking into someones computer should be a crime, no matter what you do once your in. Most people wouldn't enter someones house without permission and a computer is no different, just because the data is stored as 0s and 1s doesn't mean its not a part of you.

Just as murder is morally wrong and burglary is wrong then hacking should follow suit. I would like to see greater punishments for hackers and people should be made aware how to protect there files from hackers. Perhaps it should be a new human right that it is wrong to hack into another computer, unless you have evidence that they are committing an offence under any laws of the country.

This would surely make hacking less welcoming to many people. If we could impose the same laws as on burglars to hackers then the world would be a much better place!

Finally, it would be a good idea for everyone to receive government funded Firewall packages and more funding spent on looking into hackers and getting them into prison which would help the whole situation. It may take time but hacking is relatively new but I would expect it to follow suit with the current burgle legislation in due course.

Help fight Hackers by protecting your computer with a firewall and asking the government to amend the laws in order to keep us safe.
