Poetry: Gasoline prices

Pull to the pump,
get out of the car,
as you begin to clench your fist.

Grip the nozzle tight,
shove that baby in,
no need to deny that you are pissed.

Watch the numbers go,
go right out the door,
along with all of your money.

Have to fill up and go,
get to the job you hate,
you must admit it kind of funny.

Take a look around,
you're not the only one,
many friends you are among.

Look at the grimaces,
on each and every face,
another wallet that was stung.

Stung by the price of oil,
and the dependency it brings,
to a society always on the move.

Would rather ride the train,
or better yet a horse,
just so the point you'd prove.

Now the tank is all filled up,
but your wallet's drained,
so back to work you can go.

Go to work to make the bucks,
so you can do it again,
for what you really do not know.

But hey! You just got a raise!
But so did gas prices too!
Isn't life full of surprises?

Surprises? sure,
but what it represents,
is life and it's compromises.

So off you drive your car,
see you again next week,
probably more like again tomorrow.

So you can fill 'er up,
and let your wallet empty.
You got some gas money I can borrow?

    On the road, I watch my gauge;
    Lately, this incites my rage.
    Petrol pricing makes me balk.
    Maybe I would rather walk!

    Still,

Oh but the price of gas is enough to make you balk,
Why a body might wonder if it's better just to walk.
    You think, and think,

Let's Put Grandma in the Gas Tank

Citizens are frustrated, tempers on the boil
    What everyone's mad at
Is the high price of oil.
