The best vacation destinations will obviously be dependent upon the individual's desires and requirements. All that can be outlined here are the locations that, in the opinion of the writer, provide a selection of some of the most wonderful holiday destinations available to choose from.

EUROPE
Europe hosts some of the most varied destinations in the world for the cultural, historical, religious, artistic, romantic and relaxation seeking holidaymaker.

Paris, Venice and the Rhine in Germany can provide an ideal destination for the romantic in that they enable lovers to experience and enjoy their relationship in surroundings that provide for an indulgence in the feelings of the moment. These places give lovers the opportunity to concentrate upon each other in a setting that fires the emotions.

Europe is cosmopolitan. There are so many different cultures. Spain, Germany, UK, France, Belgium, Luxemburg; all of these countries and many others have such a diversity of cultures that one could spend a lifetime exploring these. Similarly, this spills over into the historical and religious aspect with traditions and celebrations so varied that they can feed the desires of these types of holidaymakers for decades.

At the other end of the spectrum, for those who simply view their vacations as a total relaxation from their normal lives, Europe offers superb relaxation environments with places such as Portugal, Spain, the south of France amongst others.

AMERICA
For those who wish to experience a mixture of modernisation and frontier expansion, in an environment of exceptional beauty and industrialisation, America is the place to go. From the powerful global attraction of New York, through the entertainment value of Las Vegas, and out to the frontiers of places like the Grand Canyon, for the holidaymaker who is seeking excitement in diversity, America has it all.

The expansive nature of the country and the friendliness of the people, make this country a unique experience.

ASIA
Nowhere are the emerging nations more idyllically represented for holidaymakers than in the countries of Asia. Here in places like Tibet, Korea and China, one can find a unique mixture of the modern, historical and spiritual. These areas provide one with the ability to be able to move between the past, present and future in a way that no other part of the world can match.

AUSTRALIA
Australia is an enigma. Set on the outskirts of the Asian block referred to in the last section, it is unique. It is a colonial entity that has created an identity of its own, which cannot be likened to either America or the UK. With the rugged physical beauty of the country aligned with the unique culture, Australia provides an experience in modern country linked with history and culture that cannot be measured or compared with anywhere else in the world.

RUSSIA
The former Eastern Blocs are often overlooked as holiday destinations. It is difficult to explain why this is the case. Architecturally, Russia surpasses many other countries of the world. The other aspect that few holidaymakers take into account is that Russia has been the country that has spawned most of the entertainment that the Western world enjoys. Where would the film, TV and publishing industries be were it not for the historical relationship that Russia enjoyed with the rest of the world. Surely, this is the place to go to be able to both put this entertainment into a sense of perspective and to relive some of ones favourite fictional experiences.

There are many other areas of the world that will provide equally enjoyable vacation destinations. The above are just a few to tempt the vocational taste buds.
