First of all, we have to understand that stress is a self imposed condition. Or rather, we have a tendency of letting certain things get to us unnecessarily. By saying this, I mean that if we could learn how to deal with our own issues and manage our emotions, then we could basically deal with most things.
Everybody is different. We all have problems, but some people create their own, by remaining vulnerable. When someone is vulnerable, they become moving targets for other people and their stress issues. This inadvertently creates negative energy by contributing to a downward spiral of mixed feelings and inevitably results in a fuzzy outlook on life.
We all have bad days; sometimes a succession of events can be too much to bear. A long day at work for instance, listening to a boss demanding more production, a rough trip home on the highway and screaming children with homework difficulties awaiting, when we enter the front door.... All of these events, one after the other, can be too much to deal with because we are on overload and are unable to set aside time for ourselves and our loved ones.
Sometimes we enter into relationships or situations blindly, wishing that we hadn't at a later date. The stress and anxiety may simmer away inside of us for years. If the telephone rings during dinner time, we might fly off the handle, and if our son or daughter should happen to break something, we hit the roof in rage.
To blame another person for our own poor emotional management, is very wrong and we have to learn how to contain ourselves without exploding all over the place. Dysfunction is a terrible thing, especially where it rubs off on others.
The truth is, things just happen! The more we stress about everything, the more everyone else around us becomes unsettled. The next minute we are weaving in and out of traffic, getting other drivers upset and endangering their lives, and/or we are standing in line at the grocery store getting ready to say something nasty to the person in front of us. Just think about of what we are doing and creating for ourselves and everyone else in these situations.
There are ways of dealing with stress and it has to start from within. We can't spend our lives blaming our unhappiness and mismanagement on other people, it just isn't right. We have to find inner peace and from there, we have to find our answers for dealing with life's challenges. As they say, "These things are only sent to try us." So we must find ways of thinking around those obstacles
