The Importance of quiet time in a child's schedule

Usually there are three types of quiet times.
1.Quiet time that is scheduled to refresh a child after some busy hectic tiring activities.
2.Quite time that is earned as rewards by the child to relax after a hard activity
3.Quite time given to a child to think and feel the unhealthy effect of his action and
mental readiness not to do that again.

Here we are talking about the scheduled quiet time every day for the child . Behavioral psychology and child experts believe in the power of the quiet time a lot, and it really does effect every ones behavior.

As an infant, for a healthy independent child, parents are always advised to give him some
quiet time . After feedings, or before nap and after nap, in his own crib. So he gets familiar
of his environment , starts feeling it his own place and feel the comfort and self time that a child gets there.

Parents at this time can arrange some light music that will soothe his mind and emotions.

Or the child will engage himself in a rest full activity. After some time he will go to sleep.

Or if he just woke up he will look around and observe colors around him.

Enjoying quiet moments can happen any time but if it is a scheduled time a child starts enjoying it more, he looks forward to this time and creates a connection to this time every day.

Quiet time for a child can be the same but his activities can be chosen differently. A time well spent in the library looking and discovering books will leave a different impression on his mind than just being in his room. But both have an outstanding and long lasting effect on his learning and perception.

Similarly , Crayons construction paper, and baby scissors in a room at his quite time will
initiate his creative skill and he will be happy to discover some new things that he did with the material. He will calm down with this quiet activity & mental growth.

Music is food for the soul and children love listening to it, and a musical quiet time will refresh him for the next activity of the day or if he is in his bad or crib, he will get in the habit of sleeping with the music, that will give him a longer time to relax, sleep and amused.

Most of all this quiet time bring the most effective change in a child it will reduce his anxiety to minimum. It will sort out the happening of the day in your child and it will make things go in its proper perspectives. He will be ready to experience the present with a clean and active mind and body, gleaming for hope and learning and adopting what positive comes in his way of life.

This quiet time period will start to yield many ideas and creative solutions.. He will not be clingy, whinny or cranky, after a happy quiet time.

So quiet time is a must for children not to feel cranky, whinny clingy or unhappy. They might not need their sleep so much in a day after a certain age but quiet time will make them calm down, take away the stress and refresh them.

Not only that this is a good life time habit. Taking a break after a stress building activity is the core of a high performing quality day

Adopt this habit for your children and see the results yourself.
