the time to breathe deeply. Think of it as putting extra octane in your fuel tank!
5. Watch the carbohydrates and the fats. Order the hamburger with salad instead of fries and eat only half the bun. Stop buying bread. Really. You will soon get used to not reaching for a piece of bread whenever you feel a twinge of hunger. Any diet magazine will give you lots of ideas on healthy snacking. Obviously you also stop buying bagels, scones, muffins, and cakes.
6. Stop frying everything in oil and putting store-bought dressing on your salad. These two actions alone will improve your cholesterol as well as your weight.
7. Watch your posture. Hunched shoulders lead to shoulder and neck pain and shortened muscles so that you are eventually unable to stand straight. Sit up straight and pull in your stomach. Always try to keep your spine straight.
8. If you drink, switch from beer to wine. And do stop the carbonated colas - the disadvantages so far outweigh the pleasure in their taste.
9. Climbing stairs is excellent, free and easy exercise. The lift isn't that much faster over three or four floors, and just think, you cannot get stuck on the stairs if the power fails!
10. Exercise your mind. Do crosswords, or soduko, or logic puzzles, or play scrabble or bridge. Read books instead of watching TV soaps. Ask your friends to pinpoint Kosovo on a world map..do you know where to look? A stimulated mind will do wonders for your body and give you the energy and motivation to attempt to stay physically fit as well!
