Best video games ever

Labeling video games as the "best ever" is difficult, as everyone enjoys different types of games. There are those out there that have broken boundaries and pushed the limits. Few can deny what amazing games these were.

Super Mario
Everyone favorite plumber has been around for two decades. Game after game topping the last. Well, with the exception perhaps of Super Mario Sunshine.... Super Mario Brothers came to us on the good old original Nintendo (NES) and he's still going strong with the recent release of Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. It's hard to pick one game, so I'll have to say the entire series is goes on the best games ever list. Innovation has been key to the series and I see no end in it stopping or getting boring.

Mario Kart
Another score for a Nintendo series. Though I would pick the N64 version as my favorite, every installment is good. And with Mario Kart for the Wii arriving soon, my opinion my change because it looks stunning. As far a racing games go, Mario Kart takes the cake as being the best.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
By far, Ocarina of Time is my favorite Zelda game. The game is long and in depth with a wide range of areas to explore. The playing as young Link and adult Link was a wonderful idea. Though recent incarnations of the Zelda series have similar game play, the story in Ocarina of Time still holds my heart.

Final Fantasy VII (Playstation)
Undeniably one of the best games ever made from a role-playing game standpoint. Right from the start you are thrown into the action, living an immense storyline. The characters are easy to fall in love with and relate to. About mid-game, there is also a gut wrenching twist that still breaks my heart to this day. The villain...incredible. I don't believe I've ever seen a better one. The game also has the best combat system of all the Final Fantasy games made to date, in my opinion. Final Fantasy VII has spawned a movie sequel that does it's game predecessor justice.

Lunar: Silver Star Story (Playstation)
This game was remade for Playstation with added songs, voice-overs, and improved graphics. The original was release in 1993 with the remake being release in 1999. As far as story-lines go, this game has one of the best. Once again characters are key, you actually become attached to them and care about what will happen along the way. The game gets you hooked from the start and keeps you that way until the very end. It also has a sequel that is almost as amazing.

World of Warcraft (PC)
I suppose that I can't leave out this monster of an MMORPG...since I've been playing it for over three years now! This game has probably had more impact on me that any of the others, just because of the people I have met and the length of time that I have been playing it. No end is in sight with another expansion on it's way. With a player base of over 10 million now, it's safe to say that this is the most dominating MMORPG out there.

There are many other games that should probably be on the list, but these are the best video games ever to me and hopefully some of you out there can relate. Good gaming to all.
