Commentary on "Robin Hood" politics

Politicians incessantly carp and crab about the rich' getting richer and the poor getting poorer, never mentioning that they include themselves in with the poor'. They also claim that they want to take from the rich and redistribute the wealth among the poor. Funny thing about that concept, we have all seen it in before. Oh, yes, was it not in the movies and books from childhood, about Robin Hood and his Merry Men who tried that option?

Is it not time that We The People' stepped up and took away the movie passes of these Robin Hood wannabes, so they couldn't see those stories anymore and fantasize about being the hero? After all, they have already made it quite clear that according to the money-grubbing politicians that anyone making $35,000 or more is rich' and therefore undeserving of the funds they worked hard to amass.

A well known comedian stated, not that long ago, that if one breaks down the word politics' into its basic parts you get:
* Poly = meaning many
And
* Tics = meaning blood-sucking pests.

The problem here is that we still have politicians that keep trying to reinvent the flat tire of socialism. Thinking that maybe if we throw more money at it the tire will become round and then they can maybe make socialism work. They refuse to believe that it will never work because we are not a bunch of automatons, robots if you will, that can simply be ordered around and never once disagree or complain. This is what makes those anachronistic politicians so dangerous to our great country and detrimental to our unique government, that has lasted just fine for over two centuries thank you very much.

Maybe our mode of government isn't perfect, but it sure beats whatever comes in a far distant second. Our constitution was argued and agonized over for a long time while in formulation, because the founders wanted a government that existed in the strength of its people instead of taking strength from the people. That is why they wrote We the people' and made a government of the people, by the people, for the people'.

Those that are willing to work hard can succeed. Those that want to get rich off others labors, without getting their own hands dirty, were considered less than those who labored with their own hands, innovated and invented, and gave of themselves to make the world better. This was what made this country great, generous, and energetic, while other countries chose to rest on their past laurels. History is a great teacher. Winston Churchill once said, Those that refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it'.

So to all the Robin Hood wannabes that think they can make socialism work, WAKE UP! because it has never worked for the majority. It merely enslaved the many for the benefit, nay greed, of the few. Let's take away their movie passes, pat them on their heads, tell them to put their jammies on and go on to beddybye. That way the nightmare can end and we can get on with the business of being Americans, taking care of the wisdom and freedom the founders gave us to start with. Let us honor all those who fought for our freedom and gave us the right to speak out. But let us also remember that those same fighters fought for our right to shut up as well. After all, we were born with two ears and one mouth for a reason. That is because we should listen twice as much as we talk.
