Human imperfection is something we all have to admit we have. At least I haven't met anybody in my lifetime who's absolutely perfect, I don't believe. We grow when we admit to our failures as well as our triumphs.
In the past few years, I have been thinking and dwelling a lot about my imperfections and failures in life. I wish I would have done this different, I wish I would have done that different. Unfortunately, we can't go back in time. My dwelling on the past was making me very depressed. I was unable to sleep, I was very cranky, and I must admit, I wasn't very pleasant to be around.
We hear these sayings all the time that nobody's perfect and everybody makes mistakes. It's hard to accept the fact that we aren't perfect, and we don't live in a perfect world. That's reality, that's life.
We want to be the best wives, the best mothers, the best employees, and we try our hardest to accomplish that. When we realize we weren't always the best, we become depressed and think we didn't give it our best shot.
Some of our human imperfections are even inherent, I believe.I have nine brothers and sisters and a lot of us have our father's stubborn, hyperactive personality. I never got along very well with my father because of his personality, for the most part. My parents have passed on, but recently at a family reunion, I noticed so many of my father's traits in other family members. We don't see each other that often, as we live miles apart, yet those genes are still there. The same human imperfections Dad had, some of us are carrying with us years later.
Human imperfections, we all have them, and they aren't going to just disappear. Counseling helped me a lot to deal with mine. If our imperfections are getting in the way of our lifestyle, we need to find some ways to overcome that.
Some the best solutions and advice I received to deal with my imperfections are the following ideas I will share with you.
1. Admit we have human imperfections, nobody's perfect.
2. Deal with them the best way you can. Seek help if you feel you can't do it on your own.
3. Move on, don't dwell on the past.
4. Live life to the fullest, each and everyday.
5. Be a good neighbor, whenever the chance arises. It'll make you feel better, knowing you have made someone else feel better.
6. Don't forget to be good to yourself, remember you deserve it.
7. Life is short, be happy, look for the positive things in this world.
8. Smile, and the world will smile back at you, I promise.
