This paradise of a planet that we live on can not be perfect forever, not without our help. Our planet is the single most habitable rock in our known galaxy, and we, of all people, are destroying it. Do not be one of those people that are contributing to global disasters, extreme weather, and animal extinction. Stand up for the planet that you know and love. It is easy; there are several ways for everyday people to get involved with helping the environment. May it be by joining groups, by picking up trash in your spare time, or just by getting rid of old non-Eco friendly habits, there are many various ways to help keep this beautiful world just the way it is.

One good place to start learning about the problems with your environment and ways that you can help is HOPES: Help Organization for People, Environment, and Society. HOPES exists to work towards, as a whole, spreading awareness amongst public to sensitize them towards environmental protection, and empowering them with tools and methods to search their own ways to protect the environment. Becoming a part of HOPES would be a wonderful place to start out with making your life greener.

Another great organization that you could join would be Greenpeace. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that acts to change attitudes and behavior, and to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace by doing a number of things. Greenpeace has great knowledge and impact on the world about the ways of the environment. It is beyond being just a volunteer group, for it also acts as a major political group as well. The National Audubon Society is also another organization that provides volunteering and information, and other various chapters for those concerned about wildlife.

The Adopt-a-Highway program, otherwise known as Sponsor-a-Highway is a good promotional campaign that helps encourage volunteers to keep a section of a highway free from litter. In exchange for necessary litter removal the organization involved is allowed to have their name posted on a sign in the section of the highways that they maintain, and it is just a very good way to get out there and fight against litter.

Keep America Beautiful is another great environmental organization to become involved with. Their signature annual event, "The Great American Cleanup", is a perfect way to get out there and help your local environment directly.
