a goal of becoming an author in their spare time after work, he or she is going to have great difficulty making progress in their writing. There will always be something to do with the children which seems more important. In frustration, the person might mistakenly blame the kids for his failure to succeed as an author. To remedy this, one must examine one's most fundamental beliefs, define purposes that align with those beliefs, and set goals accordingly. This clarity of purpose will not only enable productivity in one's life, but the absence of conflict allows inner peace to flourish.
* Take Action
Understanding is the first step, but - to borrow a phrase - nothing changes if nothing changes. Sometimes the remaining steps can seem too daunting. Many people find strength in religion. Confession helps dispense with guilt, and putting one's faith in a higher power can lift the weight of life's problems. This may be enough to give one the power to progress, but do not confuse inner peace with religious enlightenment - they are not the same thing. Religious convictions can help bring peace of mind, but the primary concern of most religions is the disposition of one's soul, not necessarily the tranquility of one's inner self.
* Meditation Can Help
There are many different forms and styles of meditation. Some stress the importance of "clearing one's mind" (a most difficult achievement). Others use directive visualization to bring about serenity and to open channels through which healing energies can flow. Lasting inner peace rarely results from meditation alone, but meditation can help one attain balance and focus, or what some people call being "centered" or "clear." In such a state, one can gather the energy necessary to tackle the larger steps required to achieve true, sustained inner peace.
