My Top Twenty "Feel Good" Songs
(In no particular order)
It's raining here and it's got me thinking. The power of music is undeniable. It can literally transport you to a certain time, specific place or to an exact emotion. The songs that linger in our memories and the lyrics that grab hold of our souls are extremely personal. Here is my top twenty list that I have compiled, carefully, thoughtfully and sincerely that hopefully, may help someone come out of a blue funk. At least long enough to remind them, how important it is to take your daily dose of tunes.
.Seal ~ My Vision ~ Soulful, uplifting and definitely a great way to start your morning.
.U2 ~ Beautiful Day ~ I dare you not to smile. "after the flood, all the colors came out". I have been in love with Bono since I first saw him at the Red Rock Collesium rocking "Sunday Bloody Sunday".
.Alicia Keys ~ No One ~ A sultry expression of love at its best. Love so strong, nothing can tear it apart.
.Guns 'n Roses ~ Sweet Child of Mine ~ Incredibly Sexy that always takes me "to a faraway place"
.Dexie's Midnight Runners ~ C'mon Eileen ~ This may have been a "one hit wonder", but this song never fails to bring me back to a less stressful world.
.Van Morrison ~ Brown Eyed Girl ~ Another classic song that defies you to sit still (to the dismay of all of my sisters).
.The Monkees ~ I'm a Believer ~ A childhood favorite reminding me of my first 4 year old love. Although Mickey Dolenz was the lead singer for this song, Davy Jones is and always will be my first real "crush".
.Peter Gabriel ~ In Your Eyes ~ Romantic and sweetly intense. Always gives me goosebumps.
.Bob Marley ~ I Can See Clearly Now. A song that offers hope when things don't seem to be going your way. Who better than the legendary Bob Marley to convey this message?
.The Beatles ~ Here Comes the Sun ~ Uplifting and happy. The Beatles were truly ahead of their time. This is one of those songs that no matter how many times I hear it, the sentiment is always clear.
.Lynard Skynard ~ Sweet Home Alabama ~ The guitar intro is enough to make you forget why you felt down in the first place. A must to experience.
.John Lennon ~ Imagine ~ One of the greatest songs of all time from a prolific writer who would shake his head in sadness if he were alive today.
.John Cougar Mellencamp ~ Little Pink Houses ~ Reminds me of growing up in a small town surrounded by people who love me. :)
.Dave Matthews Band ~ Crash Into Me ~ Poetic and sensual. "Hike up your skirt a little more, and show your world to me" ::sigh:: do I need to say anymore?
.Red Hot Chili Peppers ~ Under the Bridge ~ Raw emotion. A triumphant song about overcoming even the seemingly most insurmountable obstacles.
.Queen ~ Bohemian Rhapsody ~ The brilliance that is Freddie Mercury. Genius, lyrically and musically.
.James Taylor ~ Up on the Roof ~ There's something about the voice of James Taylor that is instantly soothing to me. Whenever I hear this song in particular, I feel as though, all is good.
.Eminem ~ Lose Yourself ~ Angry and motivating (in a good way). Heart Pumping, if hearing this doesn't move you, please get your pulse checked immediately.
.Don McLean ~ American Pie ~ Nostalgia at its best.
.Styx ~ Come Sail Away ~ A Seventies Classic that stands the test of time.
