Reflections on real life heroes

Colonel Corso gave away to American Industry and the American Military Machine, secret technologies salvaged from the alien craft. They resulted in the transistor, the microchip, lasers, fiber optics, antimissile missiles, the personal computer, super-tenacity fibers and many more innovations that we are still benefiting by today some sixty years later.

The humility that allowed him to work, almost entirely alone, shouldering the answer to one of the greatest mysteries of all time without needing to be recognized and royally rewarded for it, shows strength of character and commitment to his country, job and humanity that is seldom if ever seen in our twenty first century world.

He has given me back my respect for the American Military that originally covered up the earth shattering event and denied the public its real significance and the implications it had for humanity both now and into the future.

He has shown that an ordinary human being can see the bigger picture. He worked diligently, humbly and with no scandal or self interest. In his own words:"I didn't even realize how incredible it was. I just did my job..."

I watched a video recording of an interview with him, during which to my absolute delight, he dispelled the myth that the pictures released to the world of the alien being at Roswell were faked. He talked of three details in the photographs only known to him that confirmed by their presence the authenticity of the photographs.

As an avid follower of matters extra terrestrial for many years this gentleman has given me back my self respect. He has confirmed for me that these beings do exist and that all the people who laughed at my belief and passion were indeed wrong.

What a great pity that a man who has had so much influence on technological innovation in the twentieth and twenty first centuries, whose selfless actions made all our lives easier today, passed on with virtually no recognition for the extraordinary work that he did.

He will certainly always remain an iconic figure for me.
