I admire the unsung hero, Colonel Philip J. Corso, now deceased. His book, The Day After Roswell, gives a detailed account of events that affected humanity more than any other in modern times and the direct role that he played in them.
"What happened after Roswell, how we turned the extra terrestrials' technology against them, and how we actually won the Cold War is an incredible story." (Col.Philip Corso.)
This amazing gentleman become a lieutenant colonel in the army and headed up the Foreign Technology desk at the Pentagon in Army, Research and Development.
He lead a double life as a secret intelligence officer, instrumental in covering up one of the most intriguing and monumental events of history.
The integrity and intellect he possessed to be able to operate at this level while harboring the burden of such a great secret on his shoulders is absolutely awe inspiring.
I can barely contain myself when I am party to a domestic secret at home. This gent worked within the American Military Machine and neither his superiors nor his colleagues ever knew of his top secret brief.
I had read many accounts of the events at Roswell in 1947. Believing that there was no smoke without fire, I suspected that some kind of cover up had taken place.
Colonel Corso, had to wait many years before he was able to tell the world about his work and what really happened that night. His careful explanations and their huge implications have kept me abuzz since I read them.
His confirmation that alien beings from another planet were indeed ambushed by the American Army when their craft had crashed after being struck by lightening, is in itself one of the most thrilling that I have ever read.
One of the biggest mysteries of our times and of ages past has been whether we are alone in the universe.
I have read so many books on UFOs, Aliens and Unexplained Phenomena. None went as far as to actually confirm that the creatures they talked about were held captive here. Colonel Corso was the first to do so and will have my enduring admiration for the rest of my days.
The perspicacity, forward thinking, and utter selflessness with which this gentleman went about his task of disseminating information relating to the advanced technological wonders found in that craft at Roswell will always remain an inspiration to me.
A different man might have been tempted to sell the technology that resulted in fast forwarding mankind and catapulting it into the future at a cataclysmic rate.
