My top five beauty products

After all of the press coverage regarding
concerns over vaccine safety, food safety, and Made in China toys.
One thing has become clear.
The United States government and the FDA has failed to keep us safe.
The lure of money has caused companies to neglect our citizen's health and well being.
The beauty industry is yet another area where companies can profit and consumers pay the price.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (www.safecosmetics.org) has a Skin Deep data base where you can find safer products made by companies who have signed a pledge to keep harmful chemicals out of their products.
So stop by the website and see what products you may be using which are are unsafe.
You may be surprised. I was.
I used Method cleaning products-an item I specifically purchased thinking they were safe and natural, but they are not.
There is even a section called what not to buy and they name names.
Did you know there is mercury in mascara?
Or placenta -human or cow-in hair care products. Animal parts in beauty products?
Lead in Grecian Formula? -there is. Who knew?
Sigh.But knowledge is power.
So,from an It's not easy being green Mom out here in Cyberspace here are My top five low or non toxic beauty products.

1.California baby aromatherapy bubble bath for tired and cranky babies -available at Target.
It is not overly scented and comes with a bubble wand. And babies love it.At 11.99 it is more expensive than similar bath products but safer.

2.Tom's of Maine deodorant. They make many varieties I prefer apricot or
unscented also available at Target.

3.Vaseline lip therapy and the Vaseline creamy hand cream available at CVS. I bought that my baby plays with it in the bath-cap on tightly and then I rub the warmed lotion on her after her bath. It is soothing on dry Winter hands too.

4.Tressemme Conditioner available at CVS

5. Aromafloria Peppermint Foot scrub at CVS.I also use it on my knees and elbows.

I have to add baking soda to my list. You can brush your teeth with it or use it as deodorant. It is cheap and safe and effective.

Please stop by the website and sign the petition asking your legislator to make changes so all beauty products are safe for us and our children.
