TIPS FOR EASIER TRAVEL
Travel by plane can be a real nightmare, even if you do not have children along for the ride. However, traveling by plane does not have to be such a nightmare as long as you plan ahead. Here are eight tips for making you flight easier and more pleasurable.
PACK RIGHT
1. Pre-Pack Snacks in See-Through Baggies: Although people are no longer allowed to take beverages into the airports, there has not been a limitation on dry foods. This comes in handy when flying since many airlines have cut meals out of the agenda completely to be replaced with salty nuts or pretzels. As an added bonus, you can choose healthy options and know your calorie count ahead of time when putting your packets together. Use clear Ziploc bags so that security will give you less of a hassle.
2. Pack Lightly and Wisely: Select clothing that is easy to mix and match. By doing so, you can create a wider variety of outfits while also leaving more room in your bag. The smaller the bag, the less likely the need to check the bag. By carrying your bag onto the plane, you save time at both check-in and baggage pickup.
3. Take a Stroller when Traveling with Children: A stroller may seem like an unnecessary aggravation when bopping around town, but when traveling, it becomes a lifesaver. Not only can your children sleep when they become worn out by constant travel, but you can also pack all kinds of things under the stroller seat. This especially comes in handy when you are traveling through an airport with a plethora of heavy carry-on bags. The best part is, when it's time to board, you simply leave the stroller next to the door of the plane in your departure city and it will be at the door of the plane in your arrival city. (The stewardesses stow strollers last so that they are less likely to get damaged and they are handily accessible when you depart the plane.)
DRESS RIGHT
4. Wear Slip On Shoes: It's almost impossible these days to get through airport security without a full body-cavity search. Make this process easy on yourself by wearing shoes you can slip on and off quickly and that don't need to be tied or buckled. This way, you can get through security relatively fast without being trampled by the people behind you. (Don't forget to do this with your kids as well since they too will have to kick their shoes off.)
5. Wear Comfortable Slacks: This is especially important when flying since the temperature of the plane
