What if we all knew the reason for our being in existence, but merely find ourselves in a state of amnesia?
Consider your childhood memories: how many of them can you still recall? And dreams? How many have we had and forgotten? Easily brushed off as only dreams, little do we understand them and their true significance in our lives. If we delve deeper into the dream state, and seek the lucid dream until found; then we realize just how shallow our 'waking lives' really are. The 'waking life' is only a thinly spread part of our existence; the dust gathering on the table surface. If we seek the inner calm through meditation and lucid dreaming, we start reaching the wood...
In this case; how can we be so sure that there is no other existence prior to this one? Why do we find it so easy to disregard the notion of multiple existences and dimensional life on mere empiricist Victorian mindsets alone, especially taking into account how many times reductionist thought has failed to explain so many 'abnormalities' of nature? Supermarket-man has become so accustomed to his television set and mall, bathing in the oil-consuming glow of the sodium-light, that he forgot to look up and marvel at the cosmos reflecting his own eternity as a being.
But there are those who try and remember; those who dare cross the threshold of reductionist thought, using critical thinking and inner exploration, to find the forgotten Truth: the truth that lies within all of us. If supermarket-man one day should reach the threshold of discontent and walk out of the sodium-lit city back into the darkness of the little forest that is left, he will discover himself through the mono-mythical concept of the Hero's Journey: accept the Heralded calling; cross the Threshold; seek his Ally and Mentors; confront his inner Demons or Villains and finally return Home with the elixir of Being.
The reason for existence is The Journey - ups and downs, good and bad, yin and yang, love found and love lost. It is the Experience of a 3 dimensional existence in hardship and pleasure. It is the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter of life: pleasures and hardships, youth and old age and eventual returning to Full Consciousness with the fruits of a Life, ready for the next Spring...
