Quintessence:
Quintessence or spirit is considered to be the sixth sense and addresses the whole of a being. Adequate sleep, which for most, is about eight hours a night, is essential to helping the body reduce stress. Sleep deprivation dulls the mind, making even the simplest tasks seem overwhelming.
Be a spectator instead of a participant. Seeing a movie, reading a book, or watching a sporting event will take you out of your worries and allow you to focus on others.
Meditation is another method used to relax. You don't have to sit cross legged and chant in an incense filled room, if you don't want to.
Meditation can be achieved practically anywhere. You can talk a walk, a bath, or even just close your eyes and imagine someplace you'd like to be. A healthy imagination can work wonders for the stressed spirit. Begin by taking slow deep breaths.
You can also work out your frustrations physically with exercise to reduce stress. Whether you choose a highly active team sport, or something more suited to the individual like jogging or yoga, exercise makes you sweat, which is one way to push out the harmful toxins secreted by the body during a stressful day.
While stress can invade our lives quickly and without warning, in soothing our senses, we have an arsenal of tools within our grasp to reduce stress.
