Making new friends is easier than people think the key to ever lasting kinship is to meet people who share similar interests and hobbies.Trying to establish a relationship with some one who is the total opposite of your personality can work but rarely survives.

If you are new to an area and need to make friends then the sensible thing to do is to visit your local library and see what activities and clubs are available in your town. This can be a scary prospect at first but once you have taken the first step it will get easier.Decide what interests you whether it be learning a new skill or simply some where you can sit down in a friendly environment for a chat to other like minded people.

Often getting involved with an amateur dramatic society can open the door to many new and exciting adventures. Not only will your confidence grow but you will meet an assortment of varied people with whom you can forge a good friendship with.

If you are a stay at home parent with children of the toddler age then a great way to interact with others is through activities designed for the children such as mums and tots groups or swimming sessions.Every parent their shares the same interest as you and that is the desire to entertain their children.

Once you have made the first move to get to know some one it can be quite nice breaking away from the group with your new friend. You do not have to rely fully on spending time with peers in an organized environment.Try asking them to visit for a coffee bringing their children with them to play with yours. This will ease the situation and eventually you will feel more at ease.

When you are successful in making new friends keeping hold of them is the next stage. This is simple as long a s you remember the golden rule. That is,don't reveal all about your self all at once and don't bore them with your worries all the time.Friendship takes time and it needs time to grow so simply try to be relaxed and welcoming and stick to the things you have in common.Have fun,be your self and enjoy the company of your new friend.

Other ways in which to make new friends can be done via the Internet.Their are various sites that have chat rooms, some for just chatting about any thing and others are aimed at what interests you. This can be fairly harmless as long as you are aware that dangers can lurk also.Never give out your personal details straight away to any one, trust your instinct and perhaps giving out your telephone number first is the safer option.
