The question of whether or not Armageddon is close at hand depends upon the personal attitude of the person asking the question.We as Christians believe in the veracity of all of Jesus' sayings.In Matthew 24:35,in the midst of prophetic declaration, he foretells what will happen at the end of human history. If an unbeliever is truly seeking to know the truth, he or she should have an open mind when reading the Scriptures. Otherwise, they will miss what is actually being said. There is no room form personal bias or bigotry. Lew Wallace, a governor of the New Mexico territories, is remembered for his run-ins with Billy The Kid and Jessie James. He also wrote Ben-Hur, which was blessed by the Pope of that day. He was also an atheist/agnostic who was converted after being challenged to read the Holy Writ for himself. The fair-minded reader, whether Christian or unbeliever should impartially read the words of Christ and compare them with what is going on in the world today. Ezekiel 38 tells of a former communist/Muslim nation's confederacy that attacks Israel in the latter days. This group will be lead by Russia. We can see all the nations mentioned here as coming together at this time to bring about a fulfillment of prophesy. It is interesting to note that C.I. Schofield stated as early as 1909 that "Gog" was Russia. Even though he was scoffed at for his belief, less than ten years later Russia became the Soviet Union.It is important to note that the Soviet Union is not mentioned here, but rather Russia again.That nation is champing at the bit to become a dominant world power. China is not specifically mentioned by name, but an army of 200 million soldiers is mention in Revelation 9:16. Mao Tse-Tung said in 1965: "With our backs to the wall, we could scrape up an army of 200 million men." What was once scoffed at as impossible and fanciful has n ow come to pass in our generation.We also know what militaristic ambitions China and her allies have. They want to be global superpowers.(Revelation 16:12) You should not take the world of anyone else concerning these prophecies. You should read and study for yourself.
