To my dearest cat
You were a kitten when found
By a drainpipe you were bound
I took you in at age of three
I named you Pickles after me
You were wild at heart
And my friend from the start
We grew together with age
Many hours we played
Your last days were hard to see
I knew you were slipping from me
Sometimes I still think your there
Purring whilst preening your hair
But I know you are gone
I miss you my dearest cat.

Poetry: Losing a pet
A cat will slink into your life,
And while you aren’t looking
Will steal your heart with their
Silly antics, their
Beneath the branches, soil and roots,
I laid thee.
The sorrow I felt, my heart heavy with
every movement of the shovel.
by Sammy Stein
A fleeting glance, the softest purr
The sense of loss - I miss her fur
My brain makes picrtures, I see here there
My heart
by Elaine Burns
My sweetest darling Sammy
I love you and always will
But this morning when the angels came
You left and time stood still
But
by lily frost
Her name was Sweetpee.
She was my first Yorkie.
Her age was barely in year three.
She was the dearest pet, I ever had.
