Understanding why celebrities divorce so often

It really shouldn't be surprising that celebrities divorce so often. What chance do these relationships stand with the excessive pressure that is on them? The lives that celebrities live are just not conducive to sustaining a marriage relationship. They simply don't have time to nurture it.

Even in the real world regular families are breaking down constantly. This is mostly because of the pressures of modern life and the general lack of adequate attention to relationships, quality time together and meaningful communication. So where does that leave celebrities, whose lives are so consumed with media commitments and other demanding public work?

There can be no doubt that a lot of them hardly even see each other. You often hear of celebrity couples being on opposite sides of the world - and even when they are in the same city you can be sure they get scarcely any time together a lot of days. Those who are involved in the movie industry would be spending massive amounts of time working on their latest movie. It's likely that a lot of their commitments keep them apart a big percentage of the time. They probably often pass like ships in the night.

If they do manage to be home together at the same time occasionally, they would be so tired and stressed that they wouldn't be able to spend quality time enjoying each other's company and having meaningful conversation. In all likelihood they would be inclined to be irritable and snappy with each other.

The lives of celebrities may look very romantic to us "mere mortals", as we think of ourselves in comparison. We might have the impression that they are always beautiful and glowing with vitality. But it's amazing what make-up artists can do and what a good front these people can put on for the sake of their careers. Behind the scenes is undoubtedly a very different story. They are indeed just human beings like any of us and they can't necessarily have it all.

I have no doubt that they often drag themselves out of bed feeling more dead than alive. Like the rest of us they would look in the mirror first thing in the morning and see bags under their eyes. They would argue over little things and feel resentment about the lack of attention they are getting from their mate. No doubt the women often wonder where the romance in their relationship has gone lately. They feel disillusioned with many aspects of their life - or even with life in general.

They may be famous and successful, they may even have booming careers, they may have
