The French call it le grand petit djeuner, which means "big little lunch" in English. We simply call it brunch. Brunch, taken from the two words, breakfast and lunch, is my favorite way to spend a leisurely weekend morning. As a connoisseur of the brunch and having brunched in all of our major cities, I can honestly say that Chicago has some of the best of these "big little lunches" in the country.

This small restaurant, situated on the grounds of Lincoln Park, is undoubtedly the most beautiful setting for a brunch in Chicago. In this cozy room, the views of the park and the city skyline come in second only to the North Pond's three-course brunch feast. If you are a fan of pecan pie, save room for their version served with cinnamon ice cream.

Located on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Bistro 110 offers a New Orleans Jazz Brunch every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Continental cuisine, French Bistro atmosphere and a jazz band playing in the background all combine to make this a great place to spend a late Sunday morning.
