In reality your body kicks into survival mode , and in the process you can actually increase in weight, so as a point of logic, do not specifically think "diet".
It can actually be counter-productive.
Make gentle, intelligent choices for alternatives instead. Decide to make healthy food choices for yourself. The initiation of user-friendly logic, common sense, reason and a healthy, balanced approach to fitness is a far superior method of encouraging your body to dump weight and improve overall health levels.
2. Eat Sensibly at ALL Times.
First and foremost, do not starve yourself, but rather cut down gradually and substantially on overall intake ; most specifically that of junk foods, pre-processed foods, and fast foods. Limit the eating of fatty potato chips, snacks, French fries, and restaurant fast foods to smaller portions consumed only once or twice a week.
Eat fruit and vegetables as a substitute for snacks if possible.
Remember that fat in food equals fat in your body. Choose lean meats and remove skin from chicken. To lower the amount of red meat you eat, use smaller portions. A six-ounce steak eaten slowly is far more satisfying than a 12-ounce steak gulped down. Your cholesterol level will also drop in the process. Your heart and your doctor will love it.
Processed foods invariably have higher levels of fat, and excessive amounts of both salt and sugar, so do take the time to prepare home-made meals instead if at all possible to consciously place yourself in control of what you consume.
Preferably, prepare boiled, baked, or grilled meals rather than anything fried in fat or oils.
Do not subject yourself to attacks of stupidity by binging on chocolates, ice cream, deserts or any high-calorie "rewards" for ANY reason. You are only deceiving yourself. This does NOT mean you cannot eat ice cream or chocolates in small portions upon occasion; read article 1 again, it says "be KIND to yourself", not mean , miserable, and stingy.
Always eat breakfast. That process will help prevent you from over-eating fast foods at lunch time.
3. Stop drinking Soft drinks and artificial fruit and "energy" drinks every day.
Cut down on the soft drinks. North Americans drink far too much pop and soda. Soft drinks and many artificial juice and "energy" drinks are loaded with sugar and sodium. They also clearly become a "necessity" to accompany and enforce the habitual high-fat snacks consumed watching television.
