We in the business world don't have problems, instead we only have solutions. Our business is a direct reflection of one's self. Image is everything! Essentially, the most important brand in any business is you. In order to sell anything you must not only sell your product and your company but you must also sell yourself.

It all starts with positive mental thinking. Most people's problems with their image stems from the fact that they are very insecure and continue to think negative thoughts. This in turn will only give you unconstructive results. The best thing about self image is that you can change it at will. If you see something about yourself that you don't like you can take immediate action to change it by starting to think different thoughts. Thoughts are real tangible things. You will attract and reflect what you think about most. So start thinking positive and you will begin to absorb positive things in your life! Once you understand this concept the sky is the limit.

If you want to create a better self image, just like anything else in business, you should have a plan of attack. Identify the problem characteristics in your self that you would like to change. There are two very easy ways to do this.

First, ask your family, friends, and peers what they think of you. Make sure that you have them ask you the tough questions and pay close attention to what they are saying. Do they think of you as a business person? Do they think you are shy or outgoing? Are you a responsible person? Are you persuasive? Are you arrogant or confident? What do they like most about you? What do they like least? Have them rate your appearance. Etc. I know this sounds a little scary, but if you can endure the scrutiny, they will identify your biggest character flaws. Don't take everything to heart during this process, instead stay upbeat and you will learn more about yourself then ever before.

Next, identify who the leaders are in your field and study them. Learn as much about them as possible. What do people like about them? What do they do better than you? How do they speak? What do they wear? What kind of people do they associate with? Do they seem trustworthy, and why? What do they drive? Where do they live? How much income do they earn? What do other people think of them? Etc. This step is crucial because you can only learn how to create a better self image from those who already have a great one. For example, if I want to learn how to make a million dollars then my best bet would be to go and ask a millionaire how to do so. It would not make much sense for me to go and ask a janitor that makes twelve dollars an hour would it? Even though the janitor might think he is capable of telling me how to become a millionaire his income will tell you otherwise. So go to the source and there you will find the answers you need as far as what you should be aspiring for in order to obtain that impeccable self image.

Don't think that this process by any means is easy. Your self image equates to your self worth and it will be a constant journey upward. You will have to assess and reassess yourself over and over again, but not only will you create a better self image but you will also become a better person. Really work at it and create the most important brand of all, you!
