Best pizza restaurants in Chicago

Chicago is a city which boasts some of the best food in the nation. Of all its culinary offerings, though, very few things compete with the wonderful pizza places you'll find in the city. Chicago does, after all, have an entire style of pizza named after it. Chicago-style pizza is synonymous with the words "deep dish" and "delicious." In any case, here are some of the best pizza places in the city of Chicago, Illinois:

-Trattoria D.O.C.-

706 Main St
Evanston, IL 60202
Phone: (847) 475-1111

This is a great restaurant in general, but its pizza selections are particularly tempting. Trattoria D.O.C. offers 12-inch, brick-fire baked pizzas. The menu includes a few dozen previously imagined pizza topping combinations, but you can also make your own unique creation. While the prices are a bit higher than some pizza places, that's more than made up for by the ambiance and experience.

-Vito & Nick's-

8433 S Pulaski Rd
Chicago, IL 60652-3135
Phone: (773) 735-2050

This small, eclectic bar and eatery boasts some of Chicago's best thin-crust pizza. It's signature thin-crust dough is crunchy, buttery, and delectable. Also, for starters, you have to consider the garlic bread. They offer some of the best garlic bread and cheese bread in the city, maybe even in the nation. Vito & Nick's is a small, friendly, reasonably priced pizza establishment and is definitely worth stopping in to.

-Pizzeria Uno-

29 E Ohio St
Chicago, IL 60611-2707
Phone: (312) 321-1000

This is a true Chicago classic. It's true, if you want to go to Pizzeria Uno anytime even near a peak dining hour, you're going to face a relatively lengthy wait. Trust me, though, it'll all be worth it in the end. Pizzeria Uno features traditional, Chicago-style, deep-dish pizza. Each slice is practically a meal unto itself, and probably has the caloric content of one. That's all right, though. Just remember, by eating at Uno's, you're actively participating in part of Chicago's history. This is an absolute must-visit, and if you only eat at one pizza place in Chicago, this would be the one to choose.

-Caponies Trattoria-

3350 N Harlem Ave
Chicago, IL 60634
Phone: (773) 804-9024

Caponies Trattoria is a wonderful little pizza place, thematically based on the infamous Chicago gangster Al Capone, and located smack in the middle of Chicago's Little Italy. They serve wonderful pizza, along with delicious appetizers, and some of the best pasta in the Midwest.
