your mind. Intense emotion is a window to who you are - breathe deeply and look through it! Feel compassion for yourself, and love yourself for your preferences.

Many people's passions are creative. Even if yours may not be, creativity is a way to find out. Ramble to yourself in writing, or paint a picture without bothering to follow rules. Let go of the wish to be 'good at it' in these instances. The activity is about self-discovery, not 'doing it right.' If you wind up getting an idea from this, go with it! Try not to be easily discouraged.

While output is important, don't forget to take things in, too. Read books and watch television programs about new, unfamiliar topics. You may have taught yourself while growing up that certain subjects are 'off limits' to you. It's time to tear down those artificial walls and explore!

Exercise, too. Dullness is often remedied by a healthy dose of endorphins. It doesn't have to be terribly strenuous exercise - you could walk, jog, do some stretching, or play soccer with your kids.

Meditation is a way to bring all these techniques together. If you sit down quietly, relax, and listen to your own mind instead of trying to control what it says all the time (like we usually do), you're bound to sift out some facts about who you are and what you love that you weren't aware of before.
