How to find your true passion

Trouble finding true passion can be devastating, as what drives us in life is usually something we identify closely with. Being without passion is often linked with feeling distant both from from one's true self and from the rest of the world.

To start on the road to re-engagement, revert back to the last time you were truly engaged: your childhood. Back when we were kids, we didn't know how not to have passion. From caving to the compulsion to throw a screaming tantrum in the cereal isle of the grocery store, to being fascinated and repulsed by feeling a snail crawl up an arm, childhood is state that consists of passion in its purest sense.

Where did you spend most of your time before you started school? What sights, smells, locations, and textures do you remember? As an adult, remember how great it was to be a child. You may find clues to what you're passionate about now in what you were passionate about then.

While truly successful people are only sometimes rich, they're always happy, as happiness is a sure sign that a person has found and mastered his or her passion. Pursue the successful and passionate people in your life and talk to them about what drives them. Not only will they add to your passion-finding idea bank, but just empathizing with them in conversation should help. Surrounding yourself with passionate people is a surefire way to find your own path.

If you don't know any truly happy or passionate people, write letters. Ask the famous and semi-famous about their passions. Most of them have succeeded for good reasons - reasons that you can learn about.

When your emotions get intense, pay attention. Even if the feeling is anger or sadness, don't avoid it. Welcome it, rather than pushing it to the back of
