You don't need to completely change your life to be green. Only, these little things can sometimes become everyday habits. They won't transform much of what you were doing before; you will just do it better.
1. Recycle! Think twice before throwing things away. In fact, lots of them might be of use again. Things such as jam or nutella jars, plastic glasses from Starbucks or boxes you got from a new electronic device will definitely be practical one of these days. Additionally, recycling will boost your creativity; Papier mach, made out of newspaper could be a great activity subject for kids, broken glass added to a little imagination can make great pieces of art and old clothing can be fun to transform and might reveal the hidden stylist in you.
2. Use public transports as much as you can. Taking the bus or the train to work is a great way to meet people. You don't need to interact if you don't feel like it. You won't need to worry about being fined because your parking ticket has expired.
Turn on you ipod and enjoy the ride. Who doesn't like to sit and being driven around?
3. Avoid plastic bags. Get a grocery bag that you can use every time you go shopping. Plastic bags take hundred years to disintegrate; they can't be burnt and are very harmful to marine life. Run away from them, they can only contribute to the murder of our planet.
4. Teach your kids. Children love to learn, and are very hungry for responsibility. Teaching them green habits can only be beneficial. Of course they might be told about global warming and pollution from school, but the example parents can give is just the best.
5. Help whenever you can. Get involved in eco-friendly practice. Whether it is at work, or in your neighborhood, give a little bit of your time. Not only will you be seen as a model by people around you, you will also feel better because you actively contribute.
6. Stay tuned. Know what is good for our planet, and what is not. Ignorance can cause heavy damage. Be aware of new eco-friendly technology or just additional tips that can improve the sustainability of your lifestyle. If you have the opportunity to make just a little tiny green step, do it! Changing the world is not one great big thing, it's a million little steps.
7. Select what you buy. If you can, from the cleaning spray you use for your kitchen to the body lotion you usually get, use eco-friendly products. More and more efficient cleaning and beauty product are now against animal testing
