Understanding the Hispanic Culture involves more than learning Spanish

Every culture is important, and in this days know Spanish as the culture is too. Why? The U.S. becoming a diverse nation that the major two languages are Spanish and English. Many people this days what to learn Spanish, yet they don't want to know how the language can to be. When some one does not appreciate what they are learning they wont understand what is happening.

All languages are hard, even English. I have friends that have four years here in the U.S. and they have told me that does first two years have been hell for them. I have been here in the U.S. now for 16 years, I came when I was two years, so watching my friends go thru all that just to get a bag of fruit is very difficult. Everyone there tells you that being here in the U.S. is the dream, that ones your here every door available is open what they don't tell you is that even if the population of hispanics is growing is always difficult. When I entered high school there was at least three people that came up to me and said "hey you know Spanish, can you teach me." But the thing that when I became to tell them about the history, they just looked at me like I was crazy, and just say "i just want to learn the language, i don't care about all that." Knowing all that is a disappointment because you think that your parents came here and didn't matter how hard they worked.

When coming to know the background of the language you are knowing, you get to know what others suffered and what they went thru and this gets you more involved. Being able to tell someone that you know more than one language is good, being able to tell them that and more about how it came to be is much more satisfactory. And most important you can tell you husband, boyfriend, friends, family members, and much more, you love them in more than just one language. So to all you who are reading mucho amor de mi parte. And remember that knowing were the language come from is also very important. You cant just go on living only knowing one history when the world is united and made of millions that are out there just waiting for us.
