Why is it so hard to choose a gift for Father's day

Well that would be because we are women. Most men wouldn't be worrying about what to get for their Father for Father's Day, that is what they have wives, mothers and girl friends for.

Men are in many ways mysterious creatures who keep all too much inside them which makes it difficult to figure them out. It hard to surprise the Father in your life with a gift because you don't know what would really thrill him. Hard I said but not impossible. here are my top suggestions that should fit most of the dad's out there.

Men like to eat. It is always safe to get them something involved with food. That can involve a gift certificate to a special restaurant or if you know he is a carnivore a delivery of something like Omaha Steaks is bound to be very well received. If he is a cooking dad then head for Williams and Sonoma and get him something he doesn't already have or make it a gift card so he can have the fun of picking it himself.

Men drive cars, some men even really love cars. Nobody who owns a car will dislike receiving a gas card. If he likes to tinker with cars consider giving him a gift card to NAPA, Advanced Auto or Pep Boys, this way he can pick up some of the parts he needs on you. If you are so fortunate as to have a NASCAR fanatic well the gift possibilities are endless.

These days getting good old dad a GPS system will probably make his day. I know my husband has endless hours of fun with his, it has become a game to him, try to fool the GPS.

For the do it yourself dad, a gift card to Lowes, Home Depot or Ace Hardware will allow your Father figure to start a new project right away. Warn the Mom figure that a project is imminent so she can make her own plans.

For the sports loving Dad you could give him 2 tickets to one game of his favorite team sport. He may even decide he wants to take you along. Another option is to get a golf gift certificate at his favorite driving range of golf club.

A Father who enjoys the arts would be thrill with tickets to the theater, opera, exhibit at the local Art Museum.

A great gift for almost any Father is a magazine subscription to what ever his passion is. You can go to Magazines.com and find something he is sure to appreciate.

Fathers are mysterious creatures but with some serious thought you can get him a gift that he will be talking about for years to come. Go for the least expected and please don't get him a tie!
