Commitment. Thats what is takes to identify a real friend. A real friend will be there no matter what. Then again a real friend will tell you the truth no matter what. Yet, an acquaintance will just be there when it's to their benefit. I say commitment only because that's real. Like a part-time job isn't really considered a real job. Why do you think medical benefits are not available. A real friend is a full-time commitment.

Despite your mood they won't desert you. And even when they're tired. They'll tolerate the late night phone conversations. Also, even if you even dated and your still friends. And that person is there for you even if you hurt them. Your ex can even be a real friend. Real friends have not criteria other than commitment. Your enemy can even turn out to be a real friend.

For instance, anything real has worth. Diamonds, silk, money etc. So if you need to tell if your friend is real ask yourself, " How much is my friendship worth?" Because if it's a lot then you already know. Commitment isn't such a bad thing after all.
