Intelligent design has opened the door for those who hold to the truth of the Word of God to fly our flag and proclaim what we hold dear and precious. Intelligent design goes far but not far enough. It is not based on solid ground and foudations are essential if you are going to build an edifice that will stand the storms and more than last the blasts.

Why does Genesis matter? That is the crux of this topic. This answers the questions the debate throws up. There are various reasons. Here, there is a swift sweep overview.

These are simply 'bullet' points. Room is required to deal with this fully and comprehensively, but various pertinent relevant questions are confronted.

Creation is foundational where moral matters and ethical issues are concerned. Why? Because we need to know Who the Intelligent Designer is! Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Animals and man were CREATED to be vegetarian. That changed after the Flood.

Death came after Adam sinned. You cannot have a struggle for millions of years and death - AND believe The Bible. One day there will be no more death - no more suffering.

And yet, death and bloodshed are the means by which man is redeemed and rescued through Jesus Christ.

All fossils were formed after man sinned - mostly during the Flood - or following some other catastrophic event such as the Ice Age. "Answers in Genesis" deals with this in a detailed scientific manner in articles written by recognised scientists.

Genesis is quoted often in the New Testament, and there is no indication that it should be read in some allegorical, non-literal, non-historical, non-chronological way.

Genesis is scoffed at - mocked - ridiculed - allegorised - and people try to explain it away. This was not always the case!

If we were to use the outside influences of science to interpret the Bible, we would have questions about how Jesus was conceived, and the resurrection, and ascension - and His Promised Return. How do evolutionists cope with that one?

Genesis is like the Foundation, and if you rip out the foundations, the structures will collapse.

Genesis means - "beginnings" - of the universe - of life - of man - of sin - of death - of families - of nations - of languages - of the Sabbath - the beginning of the Jews, the people of God.

What would you make of Israel if it were not for Genesis?

Who owns you - and who rules you - and who sets the rules for life, if you have no GOD?
