Time tracking software adds transparency and accountability to the workplace. In any economy – particularly in one where a skilled, diligent work force is waiting to be hired – there is no need to retain employees who can’t start work on time or who slack off when they think no one is watching.
How it works
Time tracking software keeps track of the time employees spend on specific projects or in specific applications. It also performs Human Resources functions like tracking time spent on the job, vacation time, sick time, and holiday time.
The good news for the employer who doesn’t know which software to select is that the software evaluations have all been done. The website TopTenReviews.com has already selected next year’s top five software packages.
#1 Tenrox Timesheet Software
Tenrox is the front runner in this competitive category, based on a variety of factors. Tenrox software is compliant with Sarbanes Oxley controls, FMLA and FLSA standards, and the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
Tenrox has the full functionality imaginable. Full-color templates make reports easy to understand.
#2 DOVICO Timesheet
DOVICO, the number two ranked software, is entirely web based and was formerly called Track-It Suite. DOVICO’s functionality mirrors Tenrox’s features, but some employers are still reluctant to store this kind of personal information on the Internet.
The good news about DOVICO’s being a web-based application is that the software is easy to install and won’t take up hard drive space on company computers. The bad news is that it’s only as fast and secure as a company’s Internet connection.
#3 Web Time Sheet
Companies should watch pricing carefully on this number-three ranked application because the base price does not include an expense report module. Web Time Sheet’s 35 different reports include project reports and time and attendance reports. Web Time Sheet is adequate for companies with an alternative expense reporting system.
#4 Wasp Time
Wasp Time was rated fourth among its competitors because, like Web Time Sheet, it lacks expense report and invoicing functionality. According to TopTen Reviews, there is no better software than WaspTime for recording straight time and attendance. Exports are compatible with SAP, Peoplesoft, ACCPAC, Great Plains, Quick Books, Oracle, and more.
#5 Click Time
Click Time is the fifth-rated software in the category, which is a high ranking in such a crowded field, but there are significant differences between first place and fifth place. Click Time won’t track overtime, expense reports, or time spent in meetings or training sessions.
Tenrox, DOVICO, and Web Time Sheet are clear winners in the competition to make the best time tracking software. Business managers who want to increase their employees’ productivity should schedule a software demo today.
