Jobs don't cost money jobs give you money. A legitimate work-at-home job is one in which an employer pays you for the service that you provided to the employer.
There are certain types of work-at-home opportunities that break this rule. For example, many multi-level marketing opportunities require an initial investment. Franchises require an initial investment. Starting a business requires an investment.
* Principle 4: You Have To Spend Money to Make Money In A Business
This brings up the fourth principal that you need to use in order to separate real opportunities from fake ones: it takes money to make money. If you are going to start a work-at-home business, you're going to have to put out some money up front. That might take the form of stock or inventory, it might take the form of advertising, and it might even take the form of office equipment. But the fact remains you're going to have to put out some money if you want to start a work-at-home business.
The money that you need in order to start a work-at-home on business can be as little as a few dollars, as is the case with a blogging business or an Internet writing business, or it can take several thousand dollars, as it does if you're starting a distribution or retail type of service . The most important principle to keep in mind here is that you should never pay someone for something that is completely useless to you.
It may be, for example, that a multi-level marketing company requires you to buy a starter kit. In the case of a company like The Pampered Chef, this will include a variety of Pampered Chef products, as well as resources that you need in order to sell those products. The same holds true for most of the other multi-level marketing companies. But, in all of these cases, the things that you are buying have value.
It could also be that you need to invest some money into knowledge or information. You might need to buy a book, or take a class, or engage in any number of other activities in order to fully understand the steps you need to take in order to start your home business. These things have value as well. But what you don't need to do is spend money so that somebody will give you a job, or "allow" you to be a part of their company. Those sorts of requirements should immediately send out a warning signal.
Now up until this point we've talked a lot about the general principles that you need to keep in mind when considering work and home opportunities. There isn't a whole lot of work involved
