Poetry: Suicide

Survival
The world span away
When the phone rang that day
Ears buzzed as he said
It's your turn.

So I rang for assistance,
And ignored my resistance,
As words in my head,
Start to burn.

I called a taxi and waited,
So damn agitated,
As fear started
Taking control.

Can't remember the journey,
Just the sight of the gurney,
Hammer hearted,
It fractured my soul.

You lay on your side,
Too drugged to deny,
The truth of the act,
You'd committed.

They insisted they take you,
Trying to keep you awake to,
Dim the impact,
Of all you'd admitted.

So frail as sirens blaring,
I watched you -hardly daring,
To move,to think, to breathe,
Holding your shoes.

They cut your clothes open,
Whilst no words were spoken,
And I couldn't believe,
The dark news.

So much to repair,
So drugged you don't care,
And I'm here and I'm scared
And I love you.

Your life is your own,
But in you mine was sown,
My mother soul bared,
What d'you do?

Let me fill the dark parts
That have poisoned your heart,
That have darkened your eyes
For so long.

Cos I'm not letting go,
Yeah it's selfish I know,
My love will survive,
It is strong.

As are You.
