Invented by Los Angeles hair styling guru Chaz Dean, Wen Hair Care products promote a hair washing experience free of sulfates that strip the hair of natural oils and sheen.

Dean released the products in 2001 after spending many years cleaning his own hair and clients' hair without using shampoo.

The anchor product for the line is the all-in-one Cleansing Condition, which has multiple uses and is used as a base for other product applications.

However, there are many more products Dean offers in this line for more healthy hair care.

CLEANSING CONDITIONER

This all-in-one cleaning solution prevents you from having to use a separate shampoo, conditioner, detangler and moisturizer used in normal washing. The condition promises to not only cleanse your scalp and hair, but to also moisturize, strengthen, nourish and add sheen. Wen is reported to work well on fine to medium texture hair, and you can use as much as you want as often as you want without damage.

Available in a variety of fragrances - tea tree oil, lavender, fig, cucumber aloe and cool almond mint Wen cleansing conditioner is different than other shampoos or hair cleaners because it utilizes the properties of natural cleaning agents to strengthen and moisturize hair. The tea tree conditioner, for example, has healing and medicinal properties that assist sensitive, dry or flaky scalps. Wen's tea tree formula is also a best solution for ethnic or coarse, wavy hair. The cucumber aloe solution acts as a natural astringent.

You can use Wen Cleansing Conditioner as a wash-out shampoo and a leave-in conditioner. Simply apply one or two pumps after your cleaning routine from mid-shaft to the ends of your hair and allow to dry as usual.

STYLING CREAM

Wen's styling cream promotes moisture, sheen and body all in one product. Simply put a dime- or quarter-size amount in your hand, rub your hands together and apply to wet hair. In addition to putting the cream on your hair (never your scalp), you can also apply it to the crown and hairline for more body and moisture. Wen literature says the cream works well on wavy, straight and curly hair types. ($24 for six ounces)

RE MOIST INTENSIVE HAIR REPAIR MASK

After cleaning your hair and rinsing as usual, Wen recommends that you re-apply eight to 16 pumps of the cleansing conditioner to your hair, and then apply the Hair Repair Mask on top of it to focus on damaged areas. This product is recommended once every six weeks before and
