Who will win in the Ohio race? Will it be Barack Obama or will it be Hillary Clinton? There are certainly a lot of people who like Hillary in Ohio and the polls show her a little ahead of Obama in Ohio. So let's say that Hillary will win but by a very slim margin.
But Hillary seems to be spoiling it for herself, however, everytime she opens her mouth. In a New York Observer article by Steve Kornacki entitled, Buh-bye! Hillary's SNL is a Dud (February 26, 2008) the author in referring to the last debate between Hillary and Barack states the following: "Thud. In about 10 seconds' time, Clinton managed to communicate self-pity, bitterness, pettiness, paranoia and mean-spirited sarcasm." He was referring to the statement she made to Barack, rather than addressing the NAFTA question, "But I do find it curious. If anybody saw Saturday Night Live, maybe we should ask Barack if he's comfortable and if he needs another pillow."
I am getting the impression that Hillary Clinton has less support from the male population than the female population. Maybe the chauvinistic American male would rather see a man in the white house than a woman. I imagine having a woman in the White House would be a blow to the fragile American male ego. Perhaps I am wrong, but I do get this impression when reading the vast amount of information about Hillary by male reporters.
At least Barack Obama is a man. He wouldn't be the first man in the White House, but the first African American man in the White House. American racial history has shown that the African American male and the white American woman both have a harder time being recognized as being able to do worthwhile things. In this respect both Barack and Hillary have made an uphill climb to realizing an American potential that has been previously non-existent in America. In contrast the white American male and the African American woman have been the powerballs and heads of families in America - a backdrop to the slave days in the deep south.
So if Hillary Clinton makes it to the White House she will be the first woman ever to make it to the White House.
But then we shouldn't get locked into gender and race when electing a president, but I believe subconsciously this can not be helped. Beliefs, opinions, and values are deep-rooted within the psyche and play a large part in everything we do.
According to Paul Beime, one of her supporters, an investment banker, she still has the backing of all her superdelegates, which is a positive note for her winning the Democratic national convention.
So will Hillary make it in Ohio? Yes she will that is if her top-down campaign efforts are better than Barack Obama's bottom-up grassroots campaign efforts in Ohio.
But then again an article entitled The Clintons' Last Stand written by Andrew Sullivan (http://andrewsullivan.theatla ntic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/0 2/the-clintons-la.html), February 24, 2008 states the following: "Watching senator Clinton attempt to regain some lift as she paraglides into history is almost enough to evoke pity. Almost. The Clintons come with their own boundless reserves of self-pity so further reinforcements seem unnecessary to me. And I suppose they could somehow still find a brutal, soul-grinding path to the nomination. " He also states, "Her new weapon is apparently bursting into tears. I mean: really."
Well there you have it. Hillary Clinton will win Ohio, if she has to cry with real tears to get it.
