How do you define what constitutes the best fantasy website? Is it a site that features discussions on fantasy? One where you can find great fantasy literature? A site filled with fantasy artwork? * * * The Best Websites for Fantasy Writers * * *
Do you love fantasy? Would you like to be a fantasy author? These websites range from the sites of established fantasy authors to sites that can assist aspiring fantasy authors with their novels in progress.
Marion Zimmer Bradley - http://mzbworks.home.att.net
Wh ile the site is not a flashy fancy website, The Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust is a good resource for anyone that has an interest in getting published. The Articles on Writing found in the left column of the main page include, among other subjects, advice to new writers, a definition of what a short story is, and a reprint from issue 41 of Marion Zimmer Bradley's FANTASY Magazine of an article by Elisabeth Waters on taxes and the writer. While this article is now 10 years old, it is still worth reading by anyone that wants to be a writer.
Mercedes Lackey - http://www.mercedeslackey.com
T he Ask Misty page has information on writing, as well as a lot more that is well worth reading. If you want to be a fantasy writer, then I suggest that you check out the Features page for a reality check on what can happen when fans forget where the line is between reality and fantasy.
Holly Lisle - http://www.hollylisle.com
I can not say enough good things about Holly Lisle's website. It is a must visit site for fans and writers of fantasy. I have bought several of her books for writers and every one of them has been invaluable. (I particularly love the Create A Language Clinic).
Terry Brooks - http://www.terrybrooks.net
Most people hear the name Terry Brooks and they think Shannara, and I have to say that I have been a major fan of the Shannara books since I first read The Elfstones of Shannara (I read it first, then read The Sword of Shannara). My favorite book, however, is Magic Kingdom for Sale - Sold! Check out the Ask
