Best blogs on the US election 2008

As a politics aficionado, as my wife calls me, I enjoy reading blogs from time to time. I own two of those animals; unfortunately, nobody visits them, oh well, ( http://thinkingamerican.blogto wnhall.com/ and http://personaldiscovery.blogs pot.com/); this of course is a shameless plug. But as a wanna be writer in a field as competitive as politics, I need to ensure my facts are right. Blogs help, but do not necessarily are the end of the search.

http://Politico.com is a great place to start. They present articles of relevance to the average American and try to be fair on their coverage. Their coverage of the Presidential Elections is very thorough.

http://townhall.com provides a home for thousand of individual blogs, while at the same time provide a voice for some very good conservative talk show hosts and their blogs. I even found an article by actor Chuck Norris on it last night. It was enlightening. Of course, the Presidential race is a main topic of almost everybody.

The Huffington Post is Arianna Huffington's voice. She is an extreme left individual. Her opinions go from the war in Iraq to abortion, running the gamma of the liberal movement. It is interesting to read some of the postings. I, albeit being a conservative, find myself in agreement with some of the postings, not for the same reasons, but in agreement never the less.

http://heritage.org is another conservative blog which is dedicated to free enterprise, the principles spouted in the Constitution, and the ideology of the great Ronald Reagan. When you are in doubt of what being a conservative is all about, visit their section "what would Reagan do?" If you email them, they even send you a free copy of the Constitution, which is a great document to read, to know, and understand.

http://glennbeck.co m is always entertaining. I cannot honestly call Glenn a Republican. His ideas are more in the independent realm. Though conservative, he is as much a scourge on the side of the Republicans as on the Democrats, and deserves recognition for being fair to both. He could be called, in my words, the voice of extreme reason.

Matt Drudge's website (http://drudgereport.com/ ) is a good one if you need material to write about. He provides the latest news and the liberal movement throws him a bone every once in a while when they want to get the ball running on a particular topic.

One of my personal favorites is http://michellemalkin.com. Michelle impresses me as a young lady with the guts to go and express her believes even if her position is not favored by the press. Many of her readers are in disagreement with her and let her know, but she uncovers items that the press does not report on, making her a small jewel for those who want to comment on obscure facts that are not readily available in CNN.

There are many more, but these are some of my favorites. Hannity, even though he is one of my favorite talk show hosts, disappoints in his blog, I can say the same for Rush's site. Of course, I am not a subscriber to their newsletters, but they could add more substance to their sites.

It is amazing how blogs have become main stream in society. I'm a newbie to this media, but rapidly becoming addicted, since they provide the voice for the previously unheard and allow me the opportunity to express my many opinions. There is no guarantee of making money, but at least you can share your knowledge and your ideas of whatever you are passionate about.
