Ways to enjoy this summer

Summer time is for relaxation. Yes, there is the upkeep on the lawn, the flowers in the front need watering, and perhaps you have a veggie garden out back that needs weeding. Just make sure not to turn your summer vacation into another work season. Everyone, I mean everyone, needs a break. A time to refuel their brains and their bodies.

When I think of summer time I think of sun. I think of swimming. I think of biking. I think of all the things I have done over the past years when summer has come around. The fun starts pouring back in and my insides jump in excitement of the summer season. I get my bathing suit ready, I unpack the shorts and short sleeve shirts, and change the bed covers to a more lighter blanket.

Take time to listen. Hear those birds chirping up ahead. Hear the insects playing their night time jazzy tunes. Unfold the tent in the backyard so you can enjoy the sounds of night, where no lights are to distract your hearing.

Speaking of lights, start up a crackling campfire. Boil next to it in the summer heat until you go for a night time swim beneath the stars. Enjoy the sky! The clouds, the blue, the contrast of the dark piercing sky with its stars. Perhaps, if you are daring, bring out your sleeping bags and sleep out beneath that beautiful summer sky. Just take advantage of the wonderful weather you were most certainly longing for during the winter months.

Make the most of the time you have with your family and grill up some good picnic foods. Yum yum, who does not love a good picnic? If only for the laughs and memories they bring back to all present. It does not have to be a big picnic, just for the family that lives within your house. After all, those are the people you have missed greatly during the rest of the year and now is the time to spend it with them!

I think some of the biggest things to remember during the summer season is not to regret. Never look back at how many days have gone past, just live in the present. Soak in that warm sun and stretch out over that lawn chair until you think if you were any more relaxed you would fall right through the cracks of the deck. It is your life. Get to living!
